He can’t avoid her forever, and when these two finally see each other again, sparks fly between the single mom and the producer with a past he’s kept hidden from everyone who matters to him. When that past rears its ugly head, will he run away from the woman he loves or turn to her for comfort in the storm? And will she prevail in convincing him that he can be himself, in every possible way, with her?
Kristian and Aileen’s long-awaited story is full of heat, heart and humor, as well as appearances from all the Quantum characters readers love!
An emotional erotic romance about second chances and the power of love, family, and friendships. With a wonderful cast of supporting characters, a captivating movie-industry setting, a scorching-hot leading man, and a strong, inspirational heroine, Delirious was a wonderful read and one I can recommend.
This is the first book I have read in this series, and while it has most definitely piqued my interest in the other characters, you can read this as a standalone and not feel like you are missing out on too much.
Kristian was complex and layered and hiding a secret from his past. When it was revealed, his controlling nature and lack of trust in relationships made sense. I loved that he was eventually able to overcome it for the right woman. I also adored how great he was with Aileen’s children and those scenes in particular warmed my heart.
Aileen was a true inspiration. She was still recovering from her cancer ordeal, but she didn’t dwell on it, and she wasn’t whiny and looking for sympathy. Instead, she got on with her life, and she was ballsy after her brush with potential death. I really loved her personality. She wasn’t afraid to tell Kristian how she felt, and she was a fantastic mother.
While this is an erotic romance, it wasn’t as steamy as some of the erotic romances I’ve read. However, I had no issue with that. It’s more of an observation. The story also had plenty of meat on it’s bones i.e. it wasn’t just all about the s*x.
The supporting characters were fantastic and I’m definitely salivating at the prospect of checking out the earlier books in the series. From the details in this book, it sounds like each couple has a very interesting background and I’m intrigued.
There are a few reasons this isn’t a five-star read. Initially, I found it very difficult to get into this story. There is a huge amount of inner monologue at the start, which then became very repetitive and it wasn’t holding my interest. However, I’m glad I stuck with it as after the first quarter I became hooked and it kept my attention the rest of the way through. The other thing that niggled at me a little was how perfect her children were and the underlying insinuation that you are only a good mother if you have raised these model children. Apart from a minor strop in the car, these children were way too well-behaved. I would have liked them to act up a little more so it was realistic. I imagine they were harboring lots of confusing feelings over their mother’s illness and the fact a man has come into their lives, but it didn’t seem to impact them enough.
Overall though, this was a great read, and a great introduction for me to his author and this series.
Thanks to the author and Inkslinger PR for providing an ARC of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing.
