Read the book that Kirkus Reviews called: “A complex, witty page-turner, ideal for YA fans of scandal and romance.”

Don’t love your enemy. Declare war on him.

Seventeen-year-old Isis Blake hasn’t fallen in love in three years, nine weeks, and five days, and after what happened last time, she intends to keep it that way. Since then she’s lost eighty-five pounds, gotten four streaks of purple in her hair, and moved to Buttcrack-of-Nowhere, Ohio, to help her mom escape a bad relationship.

All the girls in her new school want one thing—Jack Hunter, the Ice Prince of East Summit High. Hot as an Armani ad, smart enough to get into Yale, and colder than the Arctic, Jack Hunter’s never gone out with anyone. Sure, people have seen him downtown with beautiful women, but he’s never given high school girls the time of day. Until Isis punches him in the face.

Jack’s met his match. Suddenly everything is a game.

The goal: Make the other beg for mercy.
The game board: East Summit High.
The reward: Something neither of them expected.

Previously published as Lovely Vicious, this fully revised and updated edition is full of romance, intrigue, and laugh-out-loud moments.

My Review:
Love Me Never is a stupendous read chock full of humor, angst, drama, intrigue, and one of the best MCs I’ve ever come across. Add a superb, unique, writing style, and distinctive narrative, and you have the recipe for one truly amazing read.

I think you can tell already that I loved this book! The characterization was exceptional and Isis Blake had me laughing out loud one minute and on the verge of a breakdown the next. She’s so damaged on the inside from that jackass “Nameless” but she’s brave and strong and holding her head up high despite the challenges and obstacles in her path.

She butts heads with Jack pretty much straight away and they enter into a contest of sorts, trying to outwit and outsmart one another. I have read some funny books in my time but this one takes the biscuit. I was in CONVULSIONS of laughter, literally shaking all over, tears leaking out of my eyes while reading. Seriously, my stomach was actually SORE by the time I finished. Read it for the humor alone.

Jack Hunter may be the Ice Prince of East Summit High but he’s one hot, sexy, intelligent guy. Now, he has deep-rooted psychological issues (as does Isis) and he’s full of self-loathing but he’s trying hard to be there for Sophia even though he’s crippled with guilt over his supposed failures. I couldn’t help falling for the guy with such a selfless attitude. I don’t approve of what he was doing to raise money for her medical treatment but it fit his character.

The plot is fairly predictable but you know what? It doesn’t matter because the beauty of this book is the character development, snarky dialogue, witticisms, and a truly refreshing writing style. It was a little light on the romance for my personal taste but I have high hopes for the next books.

In summary, I ADORED this book and I’m really looking forward to continuing the series. Well done Ms. Wolf – it’s a triumph.

Ever since she was a teenager, Grace Parnell has had one ambition: to prove her father’s innocence and overturn his prison sentence. That drive led her to become a tough, compassionate lawyer—until the case hits a heartbreaking end. Now Grace is adrift, with no idea how to rebuild her life. It’s certainly not the time to fall in love. But from the moment she meets Artemis Tanner, their instant connection is undeniable.

A motor-sports pioneer, Tanner has come to this little coastal town for the racetrack—but he’s staying for Grace. Even though the standoffish attorney seems determined to stay out of reach, Tanner doesn’t need a law degree to tell that their attraction is very, very mutual. As her visits to the track become more frequent, and as Tanner learns more about Grace’s troubled family, he starts to pry open the tiny cracks in her controlled demeanor. Hidden beneath, there’s an incredible passion waiting to be set free.

My Review:
An emotionally charged romance with all the feels.

Tanner and Grace meet each other at the perfect time in their lives. Both are meandering lonely through life, and they have written love out of the equation for quite similar reasons. Both of them are the product of dysfunctional upbringings, and neither of them had much love growing up. (His was non-existent, hers was absent.) That’s where the similarities end, though. They have each dealt with their demons in very different ways. Tanner is literally drifting through life and Grace is a closed-shop, totally focused on her work and her singular goal in life.

They meet as Grace has just received a bombshell that has shattered everything she thought she knew about herself. Now she is questioning everything, so, even though she is hugely attracted to Tanner, she continuously pushes him away.

Tanner was so patient and I loved him for it. I adored how he was written, and he is (hands-down) one of the most perfect book boyfriends ever. I’m still in a total swoon. He was sexy and sweet with a heart of gold. He could easily have become a player but he was a gentleman instead.

Even though this romance only spans two weeks it wasn’t a wham bam kind of connection. It still felt slow-building.

This book was full of emotional angst, witty banter, great secondary characters, and a thrilling, captivating world/setting.

The writing and pacing were great. My only complaints are the seemingly rushed ending and cliched epilogue, but overall this was a fantastic read.

Highly Recommended.

entrapment-gift

My Review:
Entrapment is the fourth instalment in Aleatha Romig’s insanely addictive Infidelity series. While this book was a little slow at the start, once I got past the 25% mark it came into its own and I couldn’t (and didn’t) put it down.

I was incensed at Charli at the end of the last book because of the decision she made. I understand she has deep psychological issues as a result of the abuse she suffered growing up, so I decided to accept that she lost her way for a few crucial moments and made one of the worst decisions of her life. If she had stayed with Nox he would have found a way to rescue her mom, but she chose to take matters into her own hands and I came to respect that.

Man, this story gets sicker and more depraved the more we delve into it, but I lapped it up. Aleatha writes heart-pounding edge-of-the-seat romantic suspense with plenty of exciting twists and turns. Entrapment was no exception.

Bryce and Alton are conniving and hateful as ever. Actually, Bryce is a total psychopath and it’s completely obvious in this one. Those parts were exemplary in their execution and I had chills all over reading those scenes. He managed to scare me and he’s not even real. Chelsea is a shell of her former self, having suffered at their hands. It all falls to Charli/Alexandria to save them.

I was a little disappointed in Nox in this book. Yes, he is distraught and pulling out all the stops to save her, but he doesn’t personally do much and that annoyed me. He has his minions running around trying to rescue his girl, and the one time he gets the opportunity to do something he ruins it -Yes, I am talking about that shameful hotel room scene – that was wrong on so many different levels that I can’t even form words, but I’m digressing.

I again loved the Oren and Adelaide sections, and the revelations about the past are starting to come out. Can’t wait until they find out everything in the next one!

I did predict that cliffhanger but it was still AMAZING. Dumped right in the middle of a sentence this time, not just a scene, and it made me howl with frustration, but that’s what I love about cliffhangers. I’ll be biting my nails until the next ARC is available.

Overall, this was a great continuation in what is proving to be a very solid series. I’m really looking forward to the conclusion. Thank you for the great read, Aleatha.

Actual rating 4.5 stars.

Excerpt:

DETONATIONS OF RED.
Flashes of white.
Explosions—visible to only me—momentarily hindered my vision. Blinking, I tried to make sense of Deloris’s text message.
“ALEX GOT INTO A CAR WITH ALTON FITZGERALD. WE ARE FOLLOWING.”
Though the plane ascended higher and higher, my heart fell to an abyss, the place where my stomach used to be.
I read it again.
The words refused to change.
Emotions boiled within me, creating a turbulent concoction capable of destruction. I looked toward the small window, expecting to see swirling clouds, but saw only the deceiving blueness of a complacent sky. Despite the misleading calm, disbelief, hurt, and rage swirled through my body, rushing through my blood, tightening my chest, and weakening my knees. Unconsciously, my fingers balled, creating fists that needed to connect with something—with anything—as I increased the pressure on the phone. Surely it would crack and shatter.
I read the words again and again.
They didn’t make sense.
Charli wouldn’t do that. She wouldn’t willingly get into her stepfather’s car.
Something terrible had happened.
I’d witnessed her apprehension and disgust when it came to Alton Fitzgerald. She’d shared her fears and some of her stories. He was the other devil, the one she spoke of. No matter what he’d done to her or not done to her in the past, being with him was dangerous. She knew that and so did I.
Charli wouldn’t willingly go with him, not after she’d promised me she’d stay safe.
I clenched my teeth, hearing her words in my mind, her promises…her lies.
When she refused to wait for me for this trip to Savannah, Charli had promised she’d stay with Deloris.
According to this text message, she hadn’t.
That’s what the words on my screen were telling me. Deloris’s message confirmed that Charli had done the one thing I forbade her from doing. She’d put the one person whom I’d entrusted to her care in danger.
She’d willingly sacrificed herself.
I needed to understand why.
I needed to speak to her, but I couldn’t.
Since the plane had just left the ground, I couldn’t make a call until we were high enough for the Wi-Fi to be activated; however, that didn’t stop my rant. Pounding the tabletop before me with the butt of my fist, a tirade of words spewed forth. The outburst, infused with obscenities, echoed uselessly through the cabin.
Wisely, Isaac remained quiet, rightfully assuming I’d share more when I was ready. The flight attendant, though, was new. She didn’t know me.
“Mr. Demetri, is everything all right?” she asked, her eyes bigger than dinner plates as she hurried around a wall and moved toward me. With each step she teetered one way and then the next, her body thrown off balance as the plane continued its ascent.
“No! Nothing is all right. Go sit down before you fall. There’s nothing you can do.”
“Sir,” she said, looking down at the phone still in my hand. “If we’re not yet out of the range of cell towers, we will be soon, but once we have Wi-Fi you’ll be able to Face Time.”
I reined in what little self-control still remained. This wasn’t my first flight. “I’m aware.”
“However, if you don’t want to wait, the plane has a satellite phone. Would you like to use that?”
What? Why didn’t I think of that?
Because I’m too stunned to process.
“Yes. Get it right away.”
Her knees buckled as she maneuvered toward the cockpit, her hands supporting her one way and then the other.
“I’M CALLING ON THE SATELLITE PHONE. I WANT DETAILS!”
I sent the text to Deloris, not caring if it would send or if she would get it. Just pushing the letters gave me something to do.
As soon as the flight attendant placed the satellite phone in my hand, I began dialing the longer-than-normal string of numbers. With each second that I waited for the connection, my blood pressure rose another notch. The rush coursing through my veins filled my ears with an internal roar, muting the engine’s drone.
Ring.
Ring.
Ring.
“You have reached—”
Though the plane continued its climb, at the sound of her voice, my stomach took another nosedive. Hitting the disconnect button, I called Mrs. Witt. She probably should have been my first call, but I needed to try to reach Charli. I wanted to know that I could.
Now, I knew that I couldn’t.
As the satellite phone again waited to connect, I reached for my own phone and pushed the app on Charli’s tracker.
Nothing.
My mind reasoned that it wasn’t because she was unreachable. She may have gotten into a car, but she wouldn’t take off the necklace. There was nothing on the app, because we didn’t yet have Wi-Fi access and the cellular service was unavailable.
As soon as the satellite phone began to ring, Deloris answered, “Lennox we’re following her…”
“What the hell happened? Where is she? Where is that bastard taking her? Why the fuck did she get in his car? Why didn’t you stop her? Did he threaten her?”
“She’s a few hundred yards ahead of us on the street. We’re making our way out of the city. According to her tracker, her heart rate is elevated, but otherwise, we believe she’s safe. According to the GPS it seems as though we’re headed toward her home.”
“Her home?” I asked incredulously. “No, Deloris, her home is in New York.”

My Review:
Didn’t enjoy this one quite as much as the first book, even though it was still a good read. Not a huge amount happens but it was so well-written that I was thoroughly engrossed in their love story anyway. Lots more of the steamy stuff in this one. Love Kendall’s writing style and characterization is superb – well-developed, complex characters with plenty of emotional depth, just as I like it.

I’m interested in Pace’s story and will check it out at some point.

Excerpt 1
Chapter 1
Josh

Graduating high school was supposed to feel like becoming an adult. After so many years of slogging through early morning alarms, bumpy bus rides, and crappy cafeteria food, the day after graduation was supposed to be . . . different. Guess I thought I’d feel like an official adult or something.
Besides the fact that I slept until noon, my life feels exactly the same. Some seniors from my school are planning to move across the country and become crazy party college freshman, but not me. I’m just stuck here in Louetta, Texas, a small town with a few good pizza joints, but nothing really exciting to brag about. I’ll be starting good ol’ community college in the fall, for what, I have no idea. Mom said she’d help me sign up for core classes. Dad said I’ll have a blast. I’m not exactly sure how true that is, since I’ve seen the campus and it looks like a combination of a thrift store and like, an old Walmart. Once college starts, I’ll have two years to figure out what I’d like to major in, and then maybe, I’ll feel more like an adult.
Right now I’m just happy to have one last summer of not doing a damn thing except working at the family business, The Flying Mermaid. It’s a surf shop on the beach, passed down from my grandparents. It was a TV repair shop when they owned it. My parents turned it into a surf shop with a little section at the front for gifts and girly crap my mom loves. It’s a pretty popular hangout at Blue Beach, and working there has always felt more like fun than actual work.
Of course, there are other things I aspire to do this summer.
Like get a girlfriend.

But most of all, it means almost three months alone with gorgeous Noah Hutchins, the only boy who’s never judged her.

Echo and Noah share everything.

But as their pasts come crashing back into their lives, its harder to hide that they come from two very different worlds. And as the summer fades, Echo faces her toughest decision – struggle to face the future together or let her first love go…

My Review:
3.25 stars.

There were times during the reading of this book when I wished I hadn’t bought it. I was happy with how things were left for our couple at the end of the first book but I couldn’t resist this one as it meant more Noah (which is a bit like saying more chocolate? Yum, yum, yes, please.) However, I was quite frustrated reading it as it was the same sentiment over and over again. The inner monologue was so repetitive and I almost tore my hair out in frustration. Nothing new happened until the mid-point and by that stage, I was almost hating our mains. And the angst? Good, God, talk about overdone (for me to say this is HUGE as I love me some angst.) I was screaming at Noah and Echo and ready to give up on several occasions, however, I persevered because the actual writing was great and I had faith that it would turn a corner. And thankfully, it did. This book redeemed itself in the second half, and the plot became more interesting and finally there was some decent character progression. Both Noah and Echo matured in themselves and how they acted in the relationship. Noah was willing to sacrifice a lot to support her and I forgave him for all of his earlier crap. Noah is back in my good books – all is right with the world. The story ended in a good place, although I wasn’t feeling as warm and cozy as I had been after finishing the first book. I’m very intrigued to read Beth’s story and I look forward to continuing the series in the future.

strippeddownnowlive1

My Review:
Another scintillating, panty-melting read from the extremely talented Emma Hart.

Stripped Down had a lot to live up to after the masterpiece that was Stripped Bare, but thankfully it met my expectations.

Cassie was abandoned by her heartless boyfriend when she fell pregnant at 16. Her daughter is now 6, and she has done her utmost to raise her with love and kindness, largely on her own. She has very supportive parents who have helped her out, but now her dad is ill and she needs to step up and help them out.

If you have read book one you know that Cassie and Beck got married at the end. This book starts off explaining how that happened. It did gloss over some of the details but that’s only because both of them were so wasted they actually couldn’t remember the specifics which led to them getting hitched. As you do!

Instead of getting divorced, they end up genuinely falling for one another and it was sweet and sexy in equal measure. Cassie has a hard time trusting any man after her past, but gradually she learns to open up to Beck. I adored the interaction between Beck and Ciara, and the scene where she questioned him if he was going to be her new dad nearly tore my heart right out of my chest. Seriously, well written.

Beck had a tough job trying to convince Cassie to give him a shot, but it was also a new departure for him too. He’s known as being a total playa, so committing himself to one woman was as scary for him as it was for Cassie to rely on a male.

Emma is a fantastic writer and the words always glide effortlessly over the pages of my Kindle. And, boy, does she know how to write steamy sex.

My only complaint is that this all took place in the space of two weeks which was totally not credible, but I pushed logic aside and just allowed myself to be entertained.

If you want a fun, heartrending story with depth, interesting characters, great writing and steamy romance, then this is the book for you.

Enjoyed it immensely.

EXCERPT

“Beck?” I managed to get his name out just before he opened the front door.
“Yeah?” He spun back to face me, his dark eyes unreadable.
I turned my face to the side so I could see him fully. “You don’t have to go,” I said softly. “You can stay. Only if you want to though.”
He rubbed his hand down his face, his eyes never leaving mine, then walked back into the kitchen toward me. I stood up away from the fridge as he stopped right next to me.
Slowly, he touched his hand to my face, his fingertips teasing my hairline. His dark gaze searched mine, and my heart jumped into my throat as the usual tingles his touch sparked danced down my neck. Then, he slid his hand into my hair, allowing the blonde strands to fall away from his fingertips.
“Do I want to go home to my big-ass house with its cold emptiness?” he asked in a low voice. “Or go to the club where half the girls there still see me as a mountain to be conquered? Not particularly, Blondie. I’d rather stay here. Even if there will be a demand for movies and water and foot rubs from a tiny, sick person.”
“You can.” My voice was quiet, like his. Even if my internal screams from self-preservation and vulnerability were deafeningly loud as they told me I was a fool, that he had to go, that this would never be enough for him.
“Do you want me to?” His question was… honest.
Raw.
Hesitant.
Like he didn’t want me to answer.
“Do I want you to stay here in my tiny house so my daughter can fall more in love with you than she already is? Not really. But…” Don’t be a fool, Cassie. Don’t admit you want him to stay. He’s just going to hurt you. “I don’t exactly want you to go either.”
“For her, or for you?”
“I don’t want to answer that question.”
“If I kissed you right now, would you ram your knee into my cock?”
“I’d briefly consider it, but I probably wouldn’t do it.”
His lips twitched to the side. “You just answered the question.”
Then, of course, he cupped the back of my head, and he kissed me. It was slow, sweet, gentle. And I didn’t consider kneeing him in the balls for a single second.
Beck pulled back and trailed his hand down my arm before he finally let me go. “I’m going home to get changed and then come back. Do you need anything while I’m gone? For CiCi? You?”
“I don’t…” I sighed and chewed back my pride. “I meant to go to the store today after work to get some stuff like bread, milk… important stuff. But now I can’t.”
“I can get it. Just tell me what you need.”
I bit the inside of my lip, then nodded. “Okay. Let me write it down.” I walked through into the front room with him hot on my heels and grabbed the notebook and pen from under the coffee table. A few things were already scrawled down, so I added a couple more things, including more medicine. I tore the sheet off the notebook, stood, then gave it to Beck. “Let me get my wallet.”
He grabbed my wrist, stopping me. “I’m not taking your money.”
I lifted my gaze to his. “You can’t pay for my groceries.”
“I can and I will.”
“You can’t and you won’t.”
“I can and I will.”
“You can’t and you won’t.”
“I can do this all day, baby. I’m stubborn as fuck.” His eyes told me he wasn’t lying. “And we all know I’m a brat about the word no. So, I can, I will, and I’m going to. If I can’t help you by buying a measly eight items, I’m an asshole who shouldn’t be allowed around other people.”
“You can’t buy my groceries,” I repeated. It was a lame argument. I was going to lose, but I’d fight until I went down.
Beck’s eyes twinkled as he leaned in. “Don’t worry. If you really want to pay me back, I’ll take a blow job. I imagine your lips around my cock will be a pretty good thank you.”
My jaw dropped as he backed off with a wink.
“Mouth open already, Cassie? Enthusiasm. I like that.”
I snapped my jaw shut and glared at him. “You’re a dirty pig.”
“I know. But I’ve got fifty bucks that says you’ll be sucking my dick by bedtime. If you don’t agree…” He shrugged one shoulder, his lips curved in that dangerous smirk.
“If you’re lucky, I’ll bite it.”
“I’ll take that as I’m in for a good time.”
One more wink, complete with expanding grin, and he was gone.
Motherfucking asshole.

And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she’ll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again..

My Review:
Wow. Awesome. This one gave me all the feels. Love Noah. Love, love, love him! Character development was superb in this book. Both mains were complex with significant issues and they grew so much as individuals when they became a couple. Combine an emotionally complex plot with beautiful writing and perfect pacing and you have one exhilarating read. I loved every word. Highly Recommended. A truly brilliant read.

Anyone except Olivia, whose beauty, compassion, and pride have him at “hello,” even if she’s more inclined to say good-bye to an O’Malley. Excerpt #2
Which only served to make her feel more awkward. Olivia threw up her hands. “I don’t know how to do this.”
“Do what?”
“This.” She motioned between the two of them. “This isn’t normal.”
He laughed again, quieter this time. “What does normal look like?” When she would have balked, he held out his hand. “Sit down. You’re making me twitchy with all the pacing. I’m not laughing at you. I’m laughing at the absurdity of this entire situation. So humor me and tell me what normal looks like.”
She didn’t know. That was the problem. Olivia wasn’t sure she’d recognize normal if it hit her in the face. But she wasn’t quite willing to share with Cillian exactly how messed up her childhood had been, outstanding chemistry or not. She inched closer to the bed and perched on the edge, but even with three feet between them, she felt like a lightning rod to his storm, full of vibrating energy and impending boom. She pulled at the edge of her T-shirt. “You know—we’d meet somewhere normal.”
“We met at a bar.”
“Most relationships don’t start in a bar.” She realized what she said and shoved to her feet. “Strike that. I didn’t mean relationship. I just…” Not sure what she was trying to say, she charged on. “Maybe a coffee shop. You’d be behind me in line and say something witty, and I’d laugh and you’d spend the next ten minutes charming me until I gave you my number.”
She was almost afraid to look at him and see his expression. His silence said it all. “That’s stupid, isn’t it?”
“No, not at all. It sounds nice.”
Olivia faced him. “You’re humoring me.”
“Sit down.” He waited for her to obey before he spoke again. “I’m not. It does sound nice.” He carefully leaned back against the headboard. “So I charm your number out of you, huh? I must be pretty charming.”
She shot him a look. “In this scenario, yes.”
Cillian laughed. “Then I’d call you.”
She edged over to sit on the other side of the mattress against the headboard. It was such a silly thing they were doing, but after how intense the rest of the night had been, maybe silly was exactly what they both needed. “A call instead of a text? I must have made an impression.”
“More like I was determined to make the right impression. Texts are lazy, and you can’t get a good read on someone that way. So I’d call.”
She hadn’t spent much time dating…well, ever, really…but even she knew that was different from the norm. “I’d think you were a freak for calling, but I’d answer because I was intrigued.”
“We’d talk for a while, feeling each other out.”
“More like me trying to figure out if you’re a psycho.”
He grinned. “Or that. I’d say all the things a normal guy would say. You’d be reassured that I wasn’t likely to chloroform you and chain you up in my torture-slash-sex dungeon.”
“That’s…comforting.”
“It would be, yes.”
She laughed softly. “We’d set up a date at the end of the call.”
“Somewhere nice and public and nonthreatening.”
“Now you’re getting the idea.” She stared at the ceiling, part of her kind of weirded out at how well the conversation was flowing with him playing along. “Dinner, no movie. Movies are for people who are too intimidated by the thought of first-date conversation that they chicken out.”
“The conversation would be titillating.”
“You think so?” She rolled onto her side to face him, finding that he’d done the same. His bandage was a vivid reminder of why they were there in the first place. Olivia frowned. “How’re you feeling?”
“That’s not part of the game.” He yawned. “So we’d drink pretentious wine that neither one of us liked and order things that we could barely pronounce and, at the end of it, we’d sheepishly admit that we didn’t like either the drinks or the food, and we’d go find a food truck and laugh at ourselves.”
It was an attractive picture he painted. Normal and kind of sweet and something she’d never have the option of doing. She made a face. “Instead, you wander into my bar because your family’s territory encompasses it and we have a quick fuck in the alley.” She should regret it. She knew she should. There were thousands of dating books and columns out there advising women to withhold sex until they had some sort of commitment.
Except she didn’t regret a damn thing.

He told me to ‘settle, girl.’
He asked if ‘something was wrong with me?’
He said I was an ‘easy target.’
That was within minutes when I first met Caden Banks.
I labeled him an *sshole, but he was more than that. Arrogant. Smug. Alpha.

He was also to-die-for gorgeous, and my stepbrother’s fraternity brother.

Okay, yes I was a little naive, a tad bit socially awkward, and the smallest amount of stalker-ish, but if Caden Banks thought he could tell me what to do, he had another thing coming.

I came to college with daydreams about being with my stepbrother, but what would happen if I fell for the anti-stepbrother instead?

anti - stepbrother teaser 1

My Review:
A funny, heart-warming, sexy, smoldering-hot, coming-of-age, friends-to-lovers, story that is pure Tijan. Jam-packed full of drama, angst, emotional complexity, intriguing characters, swoon-worthy guys, and a refreshingly different MC that you can’t help rooting for, Anti-Stepbrother is a triumph.

I devoured this book as if it was my fav chocolate cake – I just couldn’t get enough. Towards the end, I started to have a panic attack because I knew it was drawing to a close, and I wasn’t ready to give up Caden Banks.

Tijan writes seriously amazing book boyfriends. What I really liked about Caden was that he was a genuinely good guy. Yes, we are told he was a bad boy before, but we didn’t see any of that here, and I just loved that. He was a sweet, caring guy through and through.

Summer was a fantastic character, although it did take me a little while to warm up to her. But as her character developed and matured, and she became more confident in herself, I really enjoyed how different she was. I cringed for her at times – she was very socially inept on occasions – but it was surprisingly endearing. What she ever saw in that douche Kevin is beyond me. We are given an explanation toward the end that is plausible, but I would have happily jumped into my Kindle to shake some sense into her on plenty of occasions.

I enjoyed the slow-burning romance and the chemistry was great between our two mains. Caden was so protective of Summer and it melted my heart. The romantic scenes were great, and so well written (pure Tijan.)

I also liked the subplot with Colton, and I enjoy novels that incorporate important educational aspects once they tie well into the plot and are realistically handled, as was the case here. Colton was a great character and Caden’s interactions with his brother only strengthened my love for him.

I loved the college setting and all the drama and angst – totally right up my street.

All in all, this was a fantastic read. If you are a Tijan fan, you will love it. If you aren’t – why the heck not?

Actual Rating 4.5 stars.

Thanks to the author and her PR company for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

tijan bioAbout the Author:
I didn’t begin writing until after undergraduate college. There’d been storylines and characters in my head all my life, but it came to a boiling point one day and I HAD to get them out of me. So the computer was booted up and I FINALLY felt it click. Writing is what I needed to do. After that, I had to teach myself how to write. I can’t blame my teachers for not teaching me all those years in school. It was my fault. I was one of the students that was wishing I was anywhere but at school! So after that day, it took me lots of work until I was able to put together something that resembled a novel. I’m hoping I got it right since someone must be reading this profile! And I hope you keep enjoying my future stories.
